Increasing cultural diversity brings in new ideas and opportunities, and yet they also set off new challenges and conflicts. How can people and organizations work effectively in a multicultural space? How can they transform conflict due to differences into opportunities for collaboration? How can we ensure to see the humanity in each other despite differences?
Conflicts between individuals inevitably occur and can be difficult to manage. The ability to talk about these social conflicts openly (e.g., negotiation, delivering/receiving feedback) is critical. What are some wise strategies that help people approach conflict, communicate effectively, and potentially reach win-win solutions?
Whatever age or stage of life—whatever our particular concerns, aims, or struggles—pursuing multiple goals is an inescapable reality of being human. How do people manage two or more (conflicting) goals at the same time? What principles do people use, and in what ways can these principles be useful?
